Hours after Mitchell Starc pulled out of the Ranchi Test, there were many names making the rounds. Finally, Australia has backed Pat Cummins as Mitchell Starc’s replacement. From the outside it seems to be a horses for courses replacement. Pat Cummins is a tall, fast bowler who just scalped an eight-wicket haul and the Man of the Match at Sydney. Surely, Starc out is a big headache for the visitors, who got their early wickets in the match, courtesy Starc.
Meanwhile, Peter Siddle has not backed the selection of Cummins, saying it will backfire. So coming into the Test, Cummins would be nervous who knows this is a real big opportunity he has got.
