There is no doubt that India vs Bangladesh Asia Cup 2018 final will go down as one of the best finals in the history of the tournament. The match was expected to be a one-sided affair but an evolved Bangladesh showed up for the final. It came right down to the wire as India won the match off the last ball, and became the only team to win a tournament in that fashion three times.
The record 120-run opening stand followed by India’s comeback gave the defending champions hope that they can finish it off easy. Indian openers had been in great form but Bangladesh bowlers were up for the task. Wickets fell at regular interval. What made the match more nail-biting was Kedar Jadhav’s hamstring injury.
There seemed to be panic in the dressing room. Emergency meetings between the team management, coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Rohit Sharma were called to decide whether to let him stay at the crease or not.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja did good to take the match till the end. Bangladesh gave themselves a chance once again by taking the two wickets in death overs. But by then Jadhav had been patched up by Indian physio Patrick Farhart. Enough to last a few overs in the middle and take India and home.
Funnily enough, the last run was taken off the hamstring of Jadhav which led to nervous Indian dressing room earlier.
Twitter was on different level altogether late at night. Here’s a look at the few of them explaining the scenario in a different light:
When the captains backs you like this from dressing room:

Can Bangladeshi fans move on from this already? It was a great effort from your team, be proud of it. Quit whining guys!
What’s the fuss about Liton Das’ wicket?
Law 39 with reference to stumping states, being “out of his ground” is defined as not having any part of the batsman’s body or his bat touching the ground behind the crease. There’s nothing wrong with the decision, stop whining! #INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/2MUI8zkMcn— Karan Nandi (@karannandi) September 28, 2018
Can someone please invite them to Indian weddings? Just stop doing ‘naagin dance’ after every wicket!
