MS Dhoni is no stranger to breaking records!
The former captain of India has umpteen records to his name and is on the verge of breaking 3 more records in the final One Day International (ODI) at Centurion. Dhoni has faced a lot of flak for his recent performances with the bat, but his fitness and glove-work has been of the highest quality. He also brings to the table his experience and the fact that he has been a successful captain. All these factors work in his favour, which makes him an indispensable commodity for the team.
Here is the list of records MS Dhoni can create in the upcoming 6th ODI at Centurion.
Mt. 10K Beckons:
Oh yes, this is the big one! MS Dhoni (9,967) needs 33 runs to become the 4th Indian and 12th overall to breach the feat. The three Indians who have got to that landmark are Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly. Will Dhoni get enough time to reach that landmark in the final ODI?

The magic 400:
MS Dhoni (293 catches, 104 stumpings) needs three more dismissals to reach 400 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. Among these dismissals, he has 3 catches and 3 stumpings that have come for Asia XI. This is a big feat for an Indian keeper.
Boucher in MSD’s sight:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (29 catches, 10 stumpings) is four dismissals shy of going past former South African Mark Boucher 42 (40 catches, 2 stumpings) in India-South Africa ODI. This would be another feather in the cap for MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, India has already created history by beating South Africa 4-1, with one game still to be played. Only Australia have won 5 ODIs in a series in South Africa before. They achieved it in 2001-02 tour. So, Virat Kohli’s boys will have a shot at that 17-year-old record.
