The second day of the India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test at The Eden Gardens was called off due to rain. After resuming their inning at 17/3, team India could manage to score 57 runs in 21 overs. After getting torn to shreds on Day 1 of the Kolkata Test, the Indian batting had another blow right after the beginning of day 2. However, Cheteshwar Pujara became the wall for the Indian team who stood along and fought hard. Earlier Ajinkya Rahane lost his wicket to Dasun Shanaka and returned to dressing room after scoring just 4 runs off 21 balls. Surprisingly, R Ashwin was sent at number 5, however, he also failed to create any difference. After playing 29 balls, Ashwin could only score 4 runs while Dasun Shanaka took his 2nd wicket of the day.
Meanwhile, Pujara kept his cool intact and continued scoring from one end. His hard work in the County and Ranji circuit paid him off as he is rooting for his 16th Test 50 while playing alongside Wriddhiman Saha.
On day 3, India will resume the game at 74/5 with Cheteshwar Pujara (47*) and Wriddhiman Saha (6*) at the crease.
