On the back of a phenomenal run in the recently concluded 3 Test series against Sri Lanka, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. All rounder Ravindra Jadeja holds on to his number 1 bowler spot which is a big thing for India ahead of the upcoming home series. Cheteshwar Pujara (876) and Virat Kohli (806) are still at the 4th and 5th spot respectively. But the biggest gainer was Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan who has also adjudicated the man of the series, thanks to the two breezy tons he got in the series, setting up Indian wins. India whitewashed the hosts 3-0, creating a first of whitewashing a team for the first time overseas.
KL Rahul, who equalled the Test record of seven consecutive Test fifties with a half-century in Pallekele, he has been in scintillating form and the rate at which he scores helps team India in a big way. He has henceforth moved up two spots to a career high of ninth, pushing Warner down to 11th.

Dhawan, who scored a century in the first and third Tests against Sri Lanka has earned a recall to the Test side, has moved up 10 places to 28th.This also happens to be his career best. He is in the form of his life and this holds good for the Indian team, considering the long home season coming up. This means it will be really tough for Murali Vijay to make it back to the side, whereas he is in good form.

Hardik Pandya jumped 45 spots and is the biggest achiever this time, thanks to his 86-ball maiden ton and a man of the match. He is in red hot form and has the backing of his captain Virat Kohli.
Australia’s Steve Smith retains a healthy 50-point lead on top of the batting rankings, with Joe Root, Williamson, Pujara and Virat Kohli rounding out the top five.
