The 2nd Test at Colombo between India and Sri Lanka has been a one-sided affair so far as the visitors have outclassed the hosts in almost every department of the game. Two centuries and three half centuries from Indian batsmen got them to a ginormous score of 622 for 9 in the first innings, similar to what they posted at Galle. Sri Lanka are currently trailing by 572 runs with two wickets down already. Ravichandran Ashwin drew first blood as he removed the two opening batsmen early on in the innings and that too when he came out to bowl with the new ball. The hosts are currently 50 for 2 before the start of Day 3.
Skipper Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis will be coming out to bat on Day 3 with an intention to produce a partnership similar to that of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara.
Spin will play a major role on Day 3 of the Colombo Test. Though if Chandimal takes a decision to use the roller and press the wear and tear of the pitch, then the first session might not witness much turn from the spinners.
