The Indian cricket team is set to create a history as they look the win the third Test and whitewash the series on Day 3 against Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on August 14. Virat Kohli & Co. dominated the second day of the Test match as they enforced follow on. Sri Lanka trailed India by 333 runs at stumps. Earlier, India bundled out Sri Lanka for mere 135 runs after posting a mammoth 487 and then restricting them to 19/1 post-imposition of follow-on.
On Day 2, India resumed their batting at 329/6. But, they start losing wickets in quick intervals. Soon after losing the ninth wicket, Hardik Pandya took the charge and he smashed Sri Lankans bowlers all around the park. In this course, Hardik Pandya completed his maiden Test century in just 86 balls which include 26 runs in an over and hat trick of sixes. His innings was laced with 7 sixes and seven fours. He fell soon after lunch and India were bundled out for a healthy 487.
In reply to India’s first innings total, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals due to poor shot selections and they were bundled or 135 runs in the first innings. For India, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the leading wicket taker with a four-wicket haul.
