India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test, Day 3 Higlights: India whitewash Sri Lanka 3-0, win by an innings & 171 runs

IND vs SL 3rd Test, Day 3 Highlights: It was an easy day at the office for Indian bowlers as they wrapped up the Sri Lankan innings in two sessions

India had an amazing or rather one-sided series against Sri Lanka as Virat Kohli & Co. create history by beating the hosts 3-0. Two inning defeats and one by a big margin, India played like a Champion side against a Sri Lankan side which is probably in the rebuilding phase and struggling to prove themselves on the international level. Indian won the third Test by an innings and 171 runs on Day 3 and registered a comprehensive win at Pallekele, Kandy.

Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan scored centuries in the first innings and took the score to 487. That was followed by a splendid effort from Indian bowlers, especially by Kuldeep Yadav who replaced banned Ravindra Jadeja in the side. Sri Lanka were bundled out for 135 and 181 in respective innings and did not pose any threat to the bowlers.

09:38 IST The pitch has nothing in it to trouble the batsmen. It is still a good pitch for batting. All Sri Lankan batsmen need is better application against Indian bowlers.

09:04 IST Malinda Pushpakumara will try to survive as long as he can on Day 3, delay the inevitable.

Welcome to inUth’s live digital coverage of India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Day 3 at Pallekele, Kandy. The Day 2 of the game surely belonged to India with Hardik Pandya’s massacre innings followed by Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav’s dominant spell. Indian bowlers have been spot on and managed to bundle out the Sri Lankan innings in a jiffy. The starting of the second innings was not promising at all as well. Upul Tharanga once again got out early leaving his side in danger. At the start of Day 3, Sri Lanka trail by 333 runs. Night Watchman Malinda Pushpakumara and Dimuth Karunaratne are batting, hosts are 19 for 1 in 13 overs.

Indian bowlers have dominated the Sri Lankan batsmen so far. Kuldeep Yadav made the most of the opportunity as he replaced Ravindra Jadeja in the team. Sri Lankan batsmen had no answer to his spin bowling.

Pitch Report

The Pallekele pitch does not have any demons in it but Sri Lankan players succumbed to the pressure and threw their wickets away. It is expected to wear and tear in the third session of the day. The pitch is dry and the outfield is slow, seems like a bad day for Sri Lankan batsmen in the middle.

Weather Forecast:

The weather forecast remains similar to the last few days. There are chances of thunderstorms but there have not been any in the past two days. If rain does not play spoilsport on Day 3, the Test series is expected to end today itself as Sri Lankan batsmen have almost bent their knees against the Indian bowlers.

It’s lovely to be able to be next to the nature. Good day everyone pic.twitter.com/Hgv7DqPnPC
