Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led the Indian cricket team for 9 years, has a new career goal now that he is free from the captaincy. Forget about featuring in the world cup 2019, Dhoni is rocking the present and with every ODI match, he is setting new world records and smashing the old ones. While the critics are busy in framing his future in the Indian dressing room, the former captain cool is looking to scale new heights in international cricket.
The 4th India vs Sri Lanka ODI played in Colombo was Dhoni’s 300th appearance in the blue outfit. Team India won the game by 168 runs and Dhoni broke several world records. He remained not out on 49 and became the batsman to remain not out for the most number of times in ODIs.
Apart from this, MS Dhoni is now the 20th player and 6th Indian cricketer to feature in 300 ODI games. He is also the 2nd wicket-keeper after Kumara Sangakarra to have played 300 ODIs. He is now the most capped wicketkeeper in International cricket. He had been behind the wickets in 90 Tests and 77 T20Is thereby surpassing Mark Boucher who did this in 466 International matches.
