The Indian Cricket Team have left for their forthcoming tour to Sri Lanka on July 19. The bilateral series between India and Sri Lanka is comprised of 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and 1 T20I. Ravi Shastri is also touring with the team for his first ever series after being appointed as the head coach. The Indian Team is scheduled to play their first Test match of the series on July 26 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Balagolla.
Team India is currently the no. 1 team in the ICC rankings. After winning 4 consecutive Test series at home, skipper Virat Kohli will be looking forward winning another Test series away from home. The Indian boys donned the white jerseys against the Aussies earlier in 2017. They played the 4-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy and emerged victoriously winning it by 2-1 and continuing their winning streak.
As far as the team is concerned, opener Shikhar Dhawan made a surprising comeback in the Test side after Murali Vijay was ruled out of the team due to injury. Dhawan exhibited fantastic batting skills and consistency in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 followed by the ODI series against West Indies. He is currently in fine form and expected to be consistent in the upcoming series as well.
