Virat Kohli-led team India defeated Sri Lanka 3-0. The team is on a high, they also celebrated 71st Independence Day in Kandy. Virat Kohli hoisted the tricolour in Kandy. Team India is having a dream run and now will be heading into the 5-match One Day International series, where he would be expecting another big show by the Indians. Virat Kohli on the occasion of the 70th year of Independence gave a special message on his Twitter handle.

In the video uploaded by Virat Kohli on Twitter, he reveals a lot, he first wishes Indians, then reveals his fondest 15th August memory and then goes on to let the world know that his dad was born on this day.

Virat Kohli in the video says, “I take this opportunity to wish all Indians a very happy Independence Day. It gives me great pride in being an Indian. My heart is full with the pride of being an Indian every day.”

Then the Indian captain lets the cat out of the box and says, “It is also a special day for me because of another reason. It is my dad’s birthday. He was always very special for me and my family.”

He also went on to reveal his best memory of the 15th of August, “I remember flying kites with friends and family. Wherever you see in Delhi people are flying kites and then to see the tricolour everywhere is a different feeling altogether.”
