Just a week ahead of the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Kolkata Knight Riders had to go through a blow on March 30. Australian speedster Mitchell Starc has reportedly sustained a ‘tibial bone stress’ in his right leg ahead of the fourth Test match against South Africa and has been ruled out of the same. He will return home for further treatment and will participate in the IPL.
The Cricket Australia confirmed the information through a tweet ahead of the commencement of the 4th Test in Johannesburg.

Starc carried a good form and showcased a terrific performance in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. He played 3 games and picked 12 wickets. Especially, in the first match in Durban where he tore the Proteas batting line-up apart and took 9 wickets including a 5-wicket haul.

Earlier in the Ashes 2017/2018, Starc bowled some phenomenal spells and picked up 15 wickets in 5 matches. The Aussies won the series 4-0.
After missing the last IPL edition due to a foot fracture, Starc was available in the 2018 mega-auctions where he was bought by the KKR for a whopping sum of Rs 9.4 crore. He has played 27 matches so far in this tournament and has picked 43 wickets at an average of 20.38.
