Prithvi Shaw did not make the best of debuts in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 for Delhi Daredevils (DD). But he showed the world that he can live up to the expectations by becoming the joint-youngest batsman in IPL to score a half-century. Shaw displayed an array of shots in his innings taking on the spinners in powerplay and veteran fast bowler like Mitchell Johnson.
Shaw showed glimpses of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni as he launched a mini-helicopter at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium. The 19-year-old took on Johnson as he came round the wicket to him. The left-arm fast bowler bowled a full length delivery to Shaw. The opener played a mini-helicopter shot over deep midwicket boundary for a maximum.

The Under-19 World Cup 2018-winning captain impressed everyone with his technique. He got out to a fast bowler in the previous match but tackled them well in the next match. He scored 22 runs on his debut. DD roped him in for Rs 1.2 crore in IPL 2018 auctions and it seems like they pulled off a good bargain after a bidding war with Mumbai Indians (MI).
