Avesh Khan played his debut match for Delhi Daredevils (DD) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Avesh did have a chance to bowl to an in-form Chris Gayle who missed out the match due to a sore back. Australian opener Aaron Finch had a chance to prove himself in Gayle’s absence but his innings was stopped by DD’s new roadblock.
Avesh’s bowling speed clocked over 140 kmph, which is quite impressive for an Indian bowler. Finch decided to play an aggressive shot against him on the third delivery of his over but could not time it properly. The ball could only travel to covers fielder Shreyas Iyer and went straight down his throat.

Finch has been having a tough time in this IPL. He missed out on the first few matches because of his wedding. However, his return to the team has been nightmarish. He got out for a golden duck twice in a row. He scored 14 runs not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Avesh got hit for a few boundaries in the next two overs. However, he made a good comeback by getting another big wicket. He got the better of Yuvraj Singh in his fourth over. He was able to beat David Miller as well on the first ball he faced, getting pace and bounce off the pitch.
