Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise on April 12 released an update regarding refund of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tickets after IPL governing body shifted the remaining six matches of the tournament from Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium to Pune owing to security concerns.
CSK, who made a comeback to IPL after serving a two-year ban, will now play their six remaining home matches at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, the Governing Council said in a statement on April 11.
The decision comes in wake of protests from Tamil groups over Cauvery issue, demanding that no IPL match should take place in the city until the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) is set up.
Following the development, CSK, on their Twitter handle, shared information regarding how IPL fans can claim their refund of the tickets they bought to witness CSK’s matches.

“Refunds can be claimed only on producing a valid paid ticket purchased through Bookmyshow Box Office via Cash or Credit / Debit Card. Tickets purchased via internet will be refunded directly online. The Counter will not operate post 20th April 2018,” CSK’s tweet read.

According to IPL officials, the BCCI had earlier shortlisted four cities to host CSK’s home matches — Visakhapatnam, Trivandrum, Pune and Rajkot.
While the venue has changed, the date of the remaining six matches remains the same.
CSK chief coach Stephen Fleming has expressed his disappointment at the move.
“Sad to be leaving Chennai today. Great to be back and again experience the love and passion the Tamil Nadu fans have for cricket and CSK,” the former New Zealand captain wrote on Twitter.
“I trust a ‘peaceful’ resolution is found soon for the problems at hand. Thanks to everyone for making the team so welcome,” Fleming added.
The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK side will face Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on April 15.
