Chennai Super Kings’ new home in Pune and that is confirmed!
Earlier, with the Cauvery dispute snowballing, it seemed, in all probability, Chepauk/MA Chidambaram was not to host matches for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). This decision had already drawn a lot of flak from CSK fans. Four potential venues were doing the rounds — Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) and Rajkot — for becoming Chennai’s home. But even then Rajiv Shukla, IPL CEO, had hinted at Pune being preferred.

“We had decided to hold IPL matches in Chennai on police’s assurance that adequate security would be provided. But today Chennai Police informed IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) that they won’t be able to do it. Keeping this in mind, the other six matches will be held at other venues,” Shukla told ANI.
“There are a number of venues, but most likely Pune will be chosen as an alternative venue in lieu of Chennai. The proposal has been sent to the Governing Council for approval,” he added.
Nothing stops Bhajji from breaking into a laughter.

Protests have erupted all over Tamil Nadu, demanding to set up a Cauvery Management Board. The protests spilled onto the IPL as well when a show was hurled at Ravindra Jadeja during CSK’s last match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk Stadium.
