While Mumbai Indians (MI) are putting all their efforts to get into the top four places on the points table, young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan got another feather to his cap. While playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 9, Kishan hit a magnificent fifty off just 17 balls. With this magnificent inning, the 19-year-old cricketer from Jharkhand became the player to score the second-fastest half-century of this season, along with Sunil Narine.
Kishan came into bat at Number 4 during the 10th over when the MI were reduced to 62/2. The former India U-19 skipper didn’t take much time to get settled at the crease and punished almost every bowler he faced. During the 14th over, Kishan reached this milestone by hitting a phenomenal six.

Kishan continued his furious knock even after getting his fifty. Unfortunately, during the 15th over, Kishan tried a slog-sweep and the ball went directly into the hands of Robin Uthappa who was fielding at back square leg. He ended up scoring 62 runs off just 21 balls with a strike rate of 295.24. He smashed six sixes and five boundaries in his inning.
