Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav got the breakthrough for his team as Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha were looking to form a dangerous partnership. Kuldeep deceived Dhawan on the first ball of his over. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener tried to sweep the ball for a boundary but missed it completely and was found plump in front of the wicket. Kuldeep got a little overexcited while appealing to umpire Nitin Menon for the leg before wicket as he tripped and fell on all fours on the pitch.

Kuldeep got the wicket off the first ball of the 8th over and his spell. Dhawan departed after scoring 34 runs off 24 deliveries. He was gutted with himself for playing a sweep shot off a fuller delivery.

Kuldeep did not stop after taking the first wicket. He got the wicket of orange cap holder Kane Williamson with a googly. Williamson came forward and tried to push the ball expecting it to turn the other way. The ball took an edge off his bat and Dinesh Karthik made no mistake. The SRH skipper got out after adding just three runs on the scoreboard.

The chinaman got 2 wickets and conceded just 4 runs off his first over pushing SRH on the back foot after they were able to dominate KKR bowlers in the powerplay overs and put on 56 runs for the first wicket.
