IPL 2018, KKR vs RCB: Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first against a strong Royal Challengers Bangalore

Kolkata Knight Riders started their IPL 2018 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 8. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the co-owner of KKR franchise, upped the ante with his presence at the jam-packed Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Shah Rukh, clad in white t-shirt and jeans, waved and showered flying kisses as he entered the arena a little less than an hour before the start of the big-ticket clash.

Shah Rukh was likely to be present for this game but the veteran actor might not be able to attend most of KKR’s matches this time due to shooting commitments. The 52-year-old has been shooting in the United States for Aanand L Rai’s Zero which also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Ever since the inception of the IPL in 2008, Shah Rukh has been a constant feature in KKR home and away games.

Earlier, KKR let-off their captain Gautam Gambhir and made Dinesh Karthik their new captain for the 11th season of India’s own T20 league.

Dinesh Karthik-led KKR won the toss and elected to field first against a strong RCB.

Virat Kohli-led RCB scored 176/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
