IPL 2018: Mandeep ‘Rocket’ Singh Flies To Save Boundary, Gets ‘Best Fielder’ Tag

IPL 2018: Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to field against Delhi Daredevils in a must-win tie

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Mandeep Singh showed some superb athleticism on-field to save a boundary in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between RCB and Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on May 12.

The incident happened during the 5th over of Delhi’s innings when Umesh Yadav bowled a short of length delivery on Rishabh Pant’s leg-stump who pulled it to the deep backward square boundary.

Mandeep Singh rushed all the way to the boundary and flung himself to his left and stretched his left hand at the last moment to push the ball back into the field and save three vital runs for his side.

During the course, Mandeep injured his hand and was gone off the field.

Earlier, RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to field against Delhi in a must-win tie. Delhi, who are virtually out of the playoffs race, made three changes into their squad.

Nepalese leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, South African pacer Junior Dala and young all-rounder Abhishek Sharma made their IPL debut for DD. Glenn Maxwell, Liam Plunkett and Shahbaz Nadeem were dropped.

RCB, however, made just one change in their playing XI as batsman Sarfaraz Khan replaces Manan Vohra.
