Virat Kohli needed just 32 runs to surpass Suresh Raina and become the highest run-getter in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). It was Mumbai Indians (MI) who hosted Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Wankhede with both the teams looking for a win. Rohit Sharma lost the toss — the fourth time in a row — and Virat Kohli had no hesitation in opting to bowl first. Umesh Yadav gave RCB a dream start, picking up two wickets with the first two balls of the game, which is when we felt it was going to be a low scoring match. But Rohit Sharma had other ideas, he scored 94 off 52 balls, slingshooting MI’s score to 213.

Before the start of the match, Virat Kohli needed just 32 runs to go past the ever-so-consistent Raina. Suresh Raina’s luck wore off after he sustained a calf injury and had to miss out on playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Meanwhile, RCB started the chase and it was heart-warming to see the captain leading from the front, opening with Quinton de Kock. Quinton was out when the score was 40.
