Virat Kohli took an athletic catch to dismiss the opposition’s captain Dinesh Karthik but that catch neither helped them win the match nor did he steal the show. It was Bollywood ‘A’ lister Anushka Sharma’s ‘OMG’ reaction that grabbed headlines. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 6 wickets at the MA Chinnaswamy Stadium to solidify their chances of qualifying in the top four.
For RCB, Virat Kohli, as usual, was the destroyer-in-chief as he scored an unbeaten 68 to power RCB to 175. But that didn’t turn out to be good enough for the visiting side as a 62 unbeaten from Chris Lynn took KKR over the line.

Dinesh Karthik lofted the ball straight, Kohli spotted it at deep long-on and he sprinted across at full speed. He put in a full-length dive just in time and got both his hands under the ball, completing the catch. It happened in the 19th over. By then KKR had almost sealed the match.

This win or loss from both the teams’ point of view has not seen any change in the points table, RCB remain 7th as KKR are in the 4th spot with 4 wins. In fact, at the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli was honest in admitting that they just did not deserve to win. RCB have won 2 out of 7 matches and now need to win 6 out of 7 to make the all-important cut, with 8 being the magic number, supposedly.
