Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli was desperate to register a win for his team which has been struggling to make a mark in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Kohli even chose not to walk off the field after edging the delivery from Bumrah to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock. The 29-year-old was looking to accelerate scoring in the death overs but got out to Hardik Pandya in the 18th over.
Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who celebrated her birthday today, came to witness the clash against Mumbai Indians (MI). Like everyone, Anushka expected big innings from Kohli and some fireworks in the death overs.
He was looking to do the same in the 18th over but ended up mistiming the ball towards long-on fielder Kieron Pollard, who came running towards the ball and completed the catch.
Here’s Anushka reaction as Kohli walked back to the dressing room —

The crowd was shocked as Hardik had taken two wickets off two balls — those of Kohli and Mandeep Singh. The over turned out to be a horrendous one for RCB as they lost three wickets, that too when big overs were needed to get to a fighting total.

Kohli got out after scoring 32 runs off 26 deliveries, including two fours and one six. He also fell short of snatching the Orange Cap from Ambati Rayudu. And then there is also the controversy surrounding the incident when Bumrah got an edge past Kohli’s bat to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock.
