Andrew Tye made a terrific comeback in the last over, taking three wickets and not letting Rajasthan Royals (RR) post a big score. Tye picked up four wickets, those of Stuart Binny, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Mahipal Lomror. Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) pacer bowled his heart out in the death overs to keep the score to a minimum. After the end of the first innings, Tye got a little emotional after receiving the Purple Cap and dedicated the spell to his late grandmother who passed away on May 8.
Tye’s voice started to break as he talked about his grandmother in an interview with former South African skipper Graeme Smith. The armband Tye wore had ‘GRANDMA’ written over it.

In the 18th over after taking Stokes’ wicket, Tye kissed his black armband. It was his second wicket of the match and a big one, considering the situation of the match. The English all-rounder is capable of hitting the ball out of the park once he gets into the groove.
