Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have made their way back into the tournament with consecutive wins in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. It is no news that RCB needs to win their last league game of the season against Rajasthan Royals (RR). But a win in the match at Sawai Mansingh stadium will not ensure a place in the IPL 2018 playoffs. They need to do more to keep their chances in the tournament alive.
RR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first. It does not matter whether RR post a total as low as 120 or above 200, RCB will have to chase it down in 15.5 overs or less to qualify for playoffs.
RCB have won 6 games out of 13 so far and same goes for RR. The third and fourth place in the IPL 2018 points table is occupied by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) followed by Mumbai Indians (MI). Whereas KKR has 7 wins from 13 games, MI have won 6 games from 13 games.
If KKR beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last league game, they will automatically qualify for the playoffs. If they lose the match, it depends on the Net Run Rate (NRR) of other teams. MI pose a threat to RCB as they have a NRR of +0.384 while the latter has +0.264.

In order to go past MI’s NRR, RCB need to chase down the target in less than 15.5 overs. If MI lose against Delhi Daredevils (DD), then RCB will qualify for the playoffs irrespective of their NRR.
Note: The above statistics are from before RCB vs RR clash.
