IPL 2018, SRH vs KXIP: Manoj Tiwary Gets Brutally Trolled For His Bowling Action — WATCH

IPL 2018, SRH vs KXIP: Did Manoj Tiwary learn his bowling action from Kedar Jadhav?

Manoj Tiwary made his Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) debut against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), replacing Yuvraj Singh. Before the match, Manoj revealed that he wished to contribute with his bowling as well as with the bat. But no one expected Tiwary to come up with a bowling action like this. His bowling action seemed quite similar to that of Kedar Jadhav. He bowled just one over and went for 10 runs whereas other KXIP bowlers had an economy rate of not more than 8.5 runs per over.

He was introduced in the 8th over of the first innings by Ravichandran Ashwin. Shakib Al Hasan and Manish Pandey worked the ball around for ones and twos. The fourth ball of the over went down the leg side, beating the wicketkeeper KL Rahul as well.

It was only a matter of time before Twitterati started trolling Tiwary for his slinging action

However, Tiwary knew that people will be surprised with his bowling action. He said in an interview with The Indian Express,

“I have developed a unique round-arm technique, that may come handy for the team when required. I am pretty sure that people will be surprised with my bowling performance. I have started bowl with a pretty low round-arm action and it is not easy for batsmen to hit. I have been pretty successful and economical with it in regional T20 tournaments where pitches have been slow. So yes I am hoping to do well with it.”

Despite Manoj’s comparatively expensive over, SRH could only manage to score 132 runs for 6 wickets in the first innings. While their top order failed, Manish Pandey went on to score his first half-century of the season. Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan scored in the twenties, sharing crucial partnerships with Pandey. They had help from KXIP fielders who dropped several catches.
