Rohit Sharma once again disappointed Mumbai Indians (MI) by getting out early and leaving his team astray while playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Rohit could not make the most of the dropped catch from Deepak Hooda early on in the innings and got out after scoring 11 runs from 10 balls. However, credit goes to Shakib Al Hasan who dived to catch the ball which Rohit flicked towards square leg. Shakib managed to get both hands on the ball and completed the catch easily.
Rohit got out early in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 opener against Chennai Super Kings as well after scoring just 15 runs. Before IPL 2018, former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly said that he might end up scoring a double-century in T20 cricket.
SRH skipper Kane Williamson was elated by his efforts as he lauded Shakib’s catch, running towards him and Billy Stanlake, who was surprised. The 31-year-old fell on the ground on his left arm as he was holding it down after taking the catch.

Shakib did well in the first match as well, taking two wickets and giving just 23 runs in his quota of four overs against Rajasthan Royals. The all-rounder is just four wickets away from becoming the first left-arm bowler to take 300 wickets in T20 cricket. With that, he will equal Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi tally as well and become the 4th highest wicket-taker in T20s.

Against SRH, Shakib got the wicket of Krunal Pandya as it took a leading edge off the bat and carried to Williamson. MI’s top order once again faltered as they lost three wickets in the powerplay overs. However, Lewis gave SRH bowlers a scare, hitting the ball around the park.
