T20 cricket is often called a batsman’s game. In the shortest format of cricket, sixes and fours are cheered more than when a wicket falls. In India’s own T20 league—Indian Premier League (IPL)—as well, every year, many records are either created or broken with the bat, including the fastest 50 in T20 format, the highest number of sixes and others.
But in this ongoing IPL season 2018, there is a slight change in the trend. Bowlers, especially pacers, are playing a major part in turning the game in the team’s favour and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are setting quite an example at that. They have defended low score a total of 5 times so far in this season.
Let’s have a look at the young Indian bowlers who impressed us this season with their pace:
Mohammed Siraj –
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) recruit, Siraj is the fastest Indian bowler to play in this IPL season. Siraj’s fastest delivery this year clocked 149.94 kmph. He is at Number 2 on the list of the fastest delivery by a bowler in IPL 2018. In 7 matches he played so far, Siraj has grabbed 7 wickets at an economy of 8.76.

Shivam Mavi –
U-19 cricketer Mavi is the second-fastest Indian bowler in this T20 season. He bowled at 149.85 kmph. Mavi, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at whopping Rs 3 crore, picked up just 3 wickets in 7 games. In his debut game for KKR, Mavi was handed over the ball in the 15th over. Following that, he now generally opens the bowling for KKR. Mavi grabbed the spotlight after he played an important role in helping U-19 Indian team to lift the WC earlier this year.

Avesh Khan –
The 21-year-old right-arm pacer from Madhya Pradesh is the third-fastest Indian bowler and 11th overall in IPL 2018. He touched 149.12 kmph. The Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer has bagged 4 wickets in 5 games this year.

Siddarth Kaul –
Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer is the 6th fastest Indian bowler. He bowled at 147.72 kmph. The youngster was part of the Indian team that won the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
