Ahead of the first qualifier match, a special T20 game will be played at the same venue between two teams named the IPL XI and the BCCI XI. The most surprising factor about this particular game is that the participants are Indian and overseas cricketers and has been approved by the IPL Governing Council.
According to a PTI report, the Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has sanctioned women’s T20 exhibition match ahead of the IPL play-off in Mumbai. A pool of 30 women cricketers, 20 Indians and 10 foreigners, will train at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai ahead of the one-off game. The governing council gave green signal to this event after Indian women’s cricket team’s final appearance in the World Cup last year.
