The Royal Challengers Bangalore took the ground against the Delhi Daredevils on May 12 with the only motive – victory. In a do-or-die situation, the guests seemed to put all their efforts right from the beginning. They successfully restricted the DD batsmen from scoring runs and took 2 wickets within the first powerplay. Later, the duo of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant frustrated the guests for a while where the Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman smashed another half century and was inching towards his 2nd IPL ton. But AB de Villiers’ unbelievable catch brought back the RCB in the game while the others remained stunned thinking what just happened.
Just like his previous inning against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pant set the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on fire with his phenomenal strokes. After having smashed his 7th IPL fifty, he looked more confident and fearless as he hammered almost every 2nd bowl for a six. During the 13th over, Pant attempted another biggie to bowler Moeen Ali towards the long-on. De Villiers chased the bowl, jumped off, caught the ball and rolled down the ground just like a gymnast.

Pant ended up scoring 61 runs off just 34 balls including 4 sixes and 5 boundaries.
Before grabbing this extraordinary catch, de Villiers dropped one of Shreyas Iyyer during the 10th. Delhi skipper tried to hit the ball for a boundary. Despite Iyer hitting it into the stands, the ball could only cross the 30-yard circle. De Villiers was positioning himself to take the catch while Kohli was running from long off to claim it. De Villiers faltered as he saw Kohli coming in and dropped the catch.
