Bollywood director Arbaaz Khan has been summoned by Thane police in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 betting scam according to media reports. Bookie Sonu Jalan aka Sonu Batla who was arrested by Mumbai Police on May 29 for his alleged involvement in his large scale operations revealed Arbaaz’s name in the interrogation. According to media reports, Sonu revealed various names to police during the interrogation. However, the 50-year-old director’s role in the scam is not clear yet.

Arbaaz has been summoned to join investigation on June 2. Reports of Sonu’s alleged involvement with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim have surfaced as well. The matches which are under the scanner are from the recently concluded season of IPL where Chennai Super Kings (CSK) got the better of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and won their third title.

According to Financial Express, Jalan was arrested from Kalyan court in Mumbai where he had come to meet one of the arrested accused in the same case. Jalan met this person to know about the investigation into the IPL case. When police got the information, it alerted the officers and laid a trap outside Kalyan court. During the investigation, it was revealed that Jalan was in contact with Arbaaz Khan.
