Irfan Pathan becomes the first cricketer to break his silence and speak up on the actress controversy. The cricketer expressed disgust at the fact that people in India have the time to discuss nationality and religion and in the process miss out on the bigger issues like women’s safety and empowerment.

Earlier, the actress in question made a shocking disclosure of what she had to go through on a plane. She uploaded a video on Instagram in which she described a horrific molestation act that she had to face while she was travelling from Delhi to Mumbai on an Air Vistara flight.

The actress looked in distress and agony while narrating the shocking ordeal in the video
The actress said,
I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck. This is terrible. No one will help us if we don’t decide to help ourselves.
The actress, who hails from Kashmir, found a lot of support on the social space.

The tweet by the cricketer has already garnered 1.2 thousand retweets in 12 hours and just goes to show how people are talking about this incident to the young actress.
Such an incident only brings shame to the nation. Mumbai Police arrested a 39-year-old man late in the evening on December 10 and he has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) as she is a minor.
