It’s ‘hard’ for Virat Kohli to score century in Pakistan, feels Pak coach Mickey Arthur

In 2017, Virat Kohli remained the highest scorer in ODIs. He played 26 games and scored a total of 1460 runs at an average of 76.84

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has emerged as the modern era great in international cricket. The intensity with which he has been scoring runs seems unbelievable at times. He is currently the second-highest scorer in terms of the number of centuries in ODI cricket after Sachin Tendulkar.

Moreover, Kohli has played in 9 major nations and has scored a century in each one of them. The cricket pundits across the world expect him to break all the important records set across the cricket formats. However, there is one person who thinks that Kohli won’t be able to play that easily and score a century on Pakistani soil, and he is the head coach of Pakistan cricket team, Mickey Arthur.

As reported by Times Now, Arthur feels that despite being a great cricketer in the modern era, Kohli cannot bat in a fearless manner in Pakistan against the local bowling attack. He said,

“Though Kohli is a fantastic player, our team will make it hard (for him) to score a century there (Pakistan). It has been a great pleasure to watch Kohli scoring against all teams and it is always enjoyable to watch his batting. However, our bowlers will not make it easy for him to score there.”

Since his debut in 2008, Virat Kohli has never been to Pakistan to play. After the terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008, the cricketing relationship between the nations started deteriorating. The situation worsened after the attack on Sri Lanka team bus in 2009 which left 9 Lankan cricketers injured, including Kumara Sangakarra and Ajantha Mendis.
