James Anderson does not seem to have the best of the times in the first Test in Ashes 2017-18. Anderson has not been in form and his frustration was quite visible on Day 4 of the first Test at the Gabba, Brisbane. Anderson came round the wicket to Warner but the ball seemed to slip from his hand. The ball went way outside the offstump line, almost like a high full toss. It looked like Anderson wanted to bowl an offcutter to Australian opener David Warner but the ball slipped from his grip.
The Umpire signalled no ball whereas Warner was surprised by the delivery as he did not offer any shot and did not move his feat from the stance he was in. Anderson did not leak runs but could not take a wicket in the 8 overs he bowled.

A @BBCSport poll picked Anderson in the ALL TIME Ashes team. Bloody disgrace having Anderson in a team with Lillee, Mcgrath and Warne. #average

Spot on. He averages about 38 in Australia and 36 overall vs Australia. Bloody awful. Best Ashes XI?! Gotta be kidding.

The ‘old warhorse’ was quite frustrated for not giving his team an early breakthrough with a total of just 170 on the scoreboard. The 35-year-old let out his anger on debutante opener Cameron Bancroft in the 5th over of the innings. Anderson threw the ball back at the stumps rashly which ended up hitting Bancroft near the groin area.

The 25-year-old did not retaliate and Anderson raised his left hand as an apology. The opener did gave him a cold stare though. Australia are on their way to win the match. At the end of Day 4’s play they were 114 without loss with 56 runs to win. Warner and Bancroft scored half-centuries to take the game away from the visitors.
