Mitchell Johnson actually got blocked by Kevin Pietersen on Twitter!! We couldn’t believe this either, but yes, this happened. The petty Twitter banter began when former Australian fast bowler took a dig at English bowlers for not bowling fast enough after taking the new ball in the first Test at the Gabba, Brisbane. The English bowlers managed just two wickets in the second innings of Australia after taking the new ball. Tim Paine and Mitchell Starc were dismissed by Stuart Broad. But Steven Smith and Pat Cummins played out the new ball and did not let the English bowlers dominate.
Johnson took a dig at the pace brigade of England led by world’s no.1 ICC Test bowler, James Anderson. The 36-year-old also roped in former England skipper Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen in the conversation.
Here’s how the Twitter banter started and resulted in Johnson getting blocked –
Hey @KP24 @MichaelVaughan yesterday were carrying on about the pommy fast bowlers being able to bowl in the 140’s. Ever since they’ve taken the second new ball they’ve been bowling medium pace. They are allowed to bend their backs, and there’s 4 of them #ashes #sweatbandswinger

Just figured out that KP never hit a six off Mitchell Johnson in his international career, think he was always looking to block him.

However, it was Johnson who had the last laugh and was somewhat accurate in his judgement. The Australian pace attack did well to bundle out England for 195 in the second innings. Australian openers David Warner, Cameron Bancroft chased down the target of 170 easily by scoring their half-centuries.

The English bowlers could not even take a single wicket in the fourth innings as Australia started their Ashes campaign with an easy 10-wicket win.
