There were reports doing the rounds that tear-away pacer Umesh Yadav may miss out on the first leg of the cash-rich Indian Premier League. But it now seems like it is just a break he is taking and will be making a comeback when KKR take on Kings XI Punjab at home, Eden Gardens on the 13th of April.
KKR take on Gujarat Lions (April 7) and Mumbai Indians (April 9) away, these are their away matches.
Co-owner Venky Mysore had tweeted, “Hearty congrats @y_umesh. Exceptional perf 4 #TeamIndia. Enjoy the well deserved break. C u in Kol fresh & recharged on April 10! @KKRiders.”

Umesh led India’s pace attack during the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy in which he took 17 wickets in four Tests against Australia, which India won 2-1.

Umesh Yadav’s loss will surely peg back Shah Rukh Khan’s franchise as he is a key cog in their wheel. Upfront he can terrorize the batsman with his pace and get early wickets. But as Venky Mysore points out in his tweet it seems like he is just taking a break to recharge his batteries after a grueling home season. Looking at the long format of the Indian Premier League, it seems this is the right call made by the KKR management.
