Australia Eves beat their Indian counterparts by 8 wickets to win the 1st One Day International at Vadodara.
Winning the toss, Harmanpreet Kaur didn’t hesitate to bat first. India Eves managed to score a paltry 200 runs. None of the Indian batswomen could score high and all in all, it was a relatively poor batting display. P Vastrakar was the highest-scorer and the lone fighter, batting at No 9. In the process, she also went on to create a record for the highest score by a batswoman at that position. Apart from her, Sushma Verma put up a great fight, scoring 41. For Australia, Jonassen was the pick of the bowlers as she bagged 4 wickets for 30 runs.

For Australia, it was not a tall mountain to climb as they reached the target set by India in a mere 32 overs. Australia lost just two wickets on their way to the target. Bolton was rightly adjudicated the Player of the Match for her brilliant 100 off 101 balls.

But what caught our eye was the record made by Australian captain Meg Lanning. Meg Lanning became the second-fastest Australian woman to breach 3000 runs. She has done it in 64 ODI innings. She is just second to Belinda Clark, who did it in 62 games.
And that’s 3000 one-day international runs for Meg Lanning! The second-fastest Australian woman to the milestone. Superstar _ #INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/BhXS7Brivb

The 34-Year-Old record!
Meg Lanning also broke a 34-year-old record which belonged to Sir Vivian Richards, who breached the mark way back in 1984. The West Indian great took merely 69 innings to achieve the feat. Topping the list on being the fastest to score 3000 runs in both men’s and women’s cricket is Hashim Amla. The South African great took 57 innings to go past 3000 runs, something no other cricketer has been able to break.
