Virender Sehwag got a news on April 1 as he was mentioned in the New York Times newspaper, though, the headline was quite intriguing as it read, “Former Cricketer Virender Sehwag in line to be next US President”. Shocking, isn’t it? Sehwag picked it up and tweeted from his Twitter handle right away with a caption of ‘hahaha’.
The news article read, “Former Indian cricketer and Twitter Superstar Virender Sehwag might become the next US President, according to sources. Viru, as he is popularly known has been touring the United States frequently and the Trump administration has been in touch with him. Both current President Donald Trump and former President Barrack Obama are said to be extremely fond of him and after having seen the build-up to the previous elections. Virender Sehwag has emerged as a unanimous choice. President Trump is expected to discuss about this with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when they meet later this year.”

Sehwag recently tweeted his version of the Border-Gavaskar and named them as ‘Gharelu Awards’ giving Ravindra Jadeja ‘Tullu Pump’ award, Cheteshwar Pujara as ‘Inverter;’, KL Rahul as Stabilizer. He gave awards to other Indian players as well. But, the award or the title he gave to Australian skipper Steven Smith was pure gold, he gave the ‘tubelight’ award to the Aussie captain taking a dig at the ‘brain fade’ incident.
Sehwag is known worldwide for his witty nature on and off-the-field but this article had the master in splits. Before you think it is a legit news, let me tell you that the New York Times printed it as an April Fool’s edition.
