Move over luxe! When Mahendra Singh Dhoni travelled in a train after 13 years

Ranchi Rambo, as he is popularly known, will lead Jharkhand in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy which begins on February 24.

He has already quoted controversy after his agreeing to step aside as the captain of the Rising Pune Supergiants in the IPL. Well, he has traveled in the most luxurious cars and jets apart from being a regular at the best Presidential suites around the globe, then to travel in a train seems a far-fetched thought. But the Ranchi Rambo, who was once a ticket checker for the Railways, took to the train again after a hiatus of 13 years. A long, long time!

So what prompted the most celebrated Indian cricket skipper to board a train. Here is the story:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is the current skipper of the Jharkhand side for the iconic Vijay Hazare trophy had to play a match against Karnataka on the 24th of this month at Kolkata. So, the destination was Ranchi to Kolkata. Does this give you a sense of deja-vu, considering in his biopic there was a scene, where he misses the flight by a whisker and could not travel to Agartala via Kolkata. This time tough, he reached Kolkata way ahead of time.

Humble and modest as ever Mahendra Singh Dhopni was quoted as saying, “I am travelling in a train after 13 years. It is a long route and I will enjoy it. I’ll talk to my team-mates and enjoy”.

We wish Dhoni and his young boys all the very best for the prestigious event, they also play Chattisgarh on the 26th, which promises to be a humdinger.
