MS Dhoni, India’s celebrated captain is not a part of the Indian Test setup and is hence enjoying his rest. This is very important as India get ready for a long road away from home as they travel offshores. MS Dhoni is spending his time wisely though, interacting with budding cricketers of Kashmir. To top it, he is inspiring them not with his glovework or bat but instead with his words. The Ranchi cricketer, who holds an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, was seen giving a motivational speech.

It must have been a very humbling experience for the cricketers from a part of the country, which is not known to produce cricketers of high reckoning.

From the video, it is evident that the youngsters are in awe of the person who is speaking to them, MS Dhoni also goes on to reveal an incident that made him realise how he learnt running. He said, “I have played badminton, hockey as well as football. I have benefited from it because it increased my fitness. We used to play in a huge ground where seniors also used to play and until the time they finished, we used to run, which increased our fitness,” the wicket-keeper batsman told them.

1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev is an honorary Lt Col in the Territorial Army, while batting maestro Tendulkar is an honorary Group Captain in the Indian Air Force.
