MS Dhoni proved to the world twice on December 13 that he is still one of the fittest cricketers in international cricket. First, he beat Hardik Pandya in a 100 metre sprint race and then by taking an acrobatic catch in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Dhoni could not do much with the bat in the first innings as he got out after scoring just 7 runs trying to slog the ball for a maximum off Thisara Perera’s bowling. But Dhoni played a main role in Perera’s wicket by taking an amazing catch in the second innings at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali.
On the last ball of the 31st over Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a flighted delivery to Perera. The left-handed batsman tried to hit the ball for a big shot but it ended up taking an inside edge off the bat onto his pads. The ball went up in the air towards Dhoni’s right. Dhoni anticipated the height and timed his dive to perfection getting two hands underneath the ball just inches off the ground.

Sri Lankan team struggled in the field all day long. First, it was Rohit Sharma who destroyed their bowling lineup with his third ODI double century powering them to 392 for 4. And then, it was India’s bowling that got the better of Sri Lankan batsman as they never looked like getting close to the target.
