Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s power hitting in the death overs is nothing new for the cricket fans. In the first T20I match against New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, Dhoni got to play only two balls and made the most of it by scoring 7 runs. The wicket-keeper batsman remained unbeaten until the end while India posted a huge score of 202 runs on the scoreboard.
MS Dhoni came into bat at number 5 after opener Rohit Sharma lost his wicket to Trent Boult. It was the final over where Kiwi speedster Tim Southee came into the attack while Indian skipper Virat Kohli had the strike. Kohli welcomed him with a gigantic six in the first ball and then took a quick single and gave the strike to Dhoni. Dhoni, right in the first ball, picked the length perfectly and slammed it for a six towards the long on.

This very shot reminded everyone about that winning six played by the former Indian captain in the final of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium.
Earlier today, Virat Kohli lost the toss and India had to bat first. Veteran bowler Ashish Nehra was included in the playing XI and youngster Shreyas Iyer made his debut. However, the Indian openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma – set the entire stage on fire. Their 158-run opening partnership not only turned out to be the best opening stand for India in T20Is but also is the 3rd best in the world.
In return, the Kiwis could only score 149 runs in 20 overs and lost the 3match series opener by 53 runs. The next match will be played in Rajkot on November 4.
