MS Dhoni scores 100th International fifty and ‘God’ Sachin Tendulkar blesses him on Twitter, here’s what he wrote

MS Dhoni played the role of an anchor when wickets were falling at the other end, he once again showed why he is irreplaceable till 2019 World Cup

MS Dhoni always gets huge support from the crowd when he bats in India, but, Chennai crowd takes it to another level. Maybe that’s why Dhoni reached Chennai for the first ODI before anyone in the team. Dhoni’s services were once again required when India’s top order took a hit from Australian speedster Nathan Coulter-Nile. Dhoni needed to stay there and that’s exactly what he did. He survived a runout scare in the 22nd over and never looked back.

There’s no one really in the world at this point of time who plays the waiting game better than Dhoni. He lets other players have a crack at the bowlers assuring that on the other end the wickets will remain intact. This quality of his assured that he reaches his 66th half century in ODIs and makes the century of half-centuries in his international career and also becoming the fourth Indian batsman to do it.

Dhoni held on to his end till the last over scoring 79 runs from 88 balls scoring 4 fours and 2 sixes. Soon enough Twitter got filled with congratulatory messages, memes, and jokes appreciating Dhoni’s innings. The centurion of international centuries, Sachin Tendulkar was not far behind as he congratulated Dhoni in his own style. He tweeted-

Yet another 100 for @msdhoni! This time in front of the stumps! Congratulations on a century of 50s Mahi pic.twitter.com/2yPf1wUnW7

Dhoni gave Hardik Pandya singles when he launched a brutal onslaught on Australian bowlers, especially Adam Zampa. He gave Pandya as many strikes as possible when he was on fire and changed his role when the all-rounder got out.

The chants of Dhoni-Dhoni echoed in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai as they backed the Chennai Superkings skipper to fire. Dhoni struck a few blows in the death overs and ran hard between the wickets. His sensible innings took India to a fighting total of 281 for 7 in 50 overs.
