Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is facing criticism for not finishing the game in the second T20I against New Zealand on November 4, set a unique record during the series decider which no other batsman would like to achieve in his cricketing career. Dhoni achieved the feat when he came at the crease to bat at number 7 during the third T20I encounter at Thiruvananthapuram on November 7.
During the match, which was reduced to 8 overs per side due to the wet outfield, former Indian skipper Dhoni walked in to bat after India lost Manish Pandey (17) with two balls remaining in Indian innings. Hardik Pandya was at the striker’s end. Pandya played both the deliveries and Dhoni (0*) remained unbeaten.
This is for the first time since 2004 that Dhoni remained unbeaten until the inning end and didn’t score even a single run.
M.S.Dhoni remained unbeaten on zero without playing any delivery yesterday.

A trembling Indian batting line-up could only score 67 runs and it seems that Virat Kohli & Co would lose the first ever series at home this year. However, the Indian bowlers turned the game upside down and restricted the Kiwis to 61. The Men in Blue clinched the series 2-1 and maintained their winning streak on the homeland.
Now India will be playing the last bilateral series of this year against Sri Lanka. The series comprises of 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. Starting with the Test series, India is going to take on the Lankans in Kolkata on November 16.
