Mumbai boy Pranav Dhanawade, who shot to fame after scoring 1,009 in a single innings in a school-level match, is in for trouble. After being involved in a heated argument with police officials, he was detained. He was later let off with a warning.
The Subhash Ground in the metropolis’ Kalyan area where the wonder kid plays cricket with his friends, was being handed over to the police for various security reasons. The state’s Public Welfare Department (PWD) will be used for union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar’s visit to Kalyan.
The incident occurred when the guard deployed to protect the helipad, asked Dhanawade and his friends not to play the game at the ground. Soon, an argument ensued between the players and the guard over the issue. The scene turned ugly when police officials also arrived at the spot.
Dhanawade, who has won a scholarship for five years by the Mumbai Cricket Association, asked the cops to furnish documents based on which they were being denied permission to use the ground. He was hence taken to the nearby police station. However, Dhanawade was later let off with a warning by the cops.
Dhanawade had stunned everyone this year when he struck an unbeaten 1,009 while playing for Mumbai’s KC Gandhi Higher Secondary School against Arya Gurukul in an inter-school cricket tournament match. The 15-year-old struck 129 fours and 59 sixes in his 323-ball knock.

Previously, the record for highest individual score in all forms of cricket was held by AEJ Collins who struck 628 not out while batting for Clark’s House against North Town at Bristol in 1899. Brian Lara holds the record for highest individual score in first-class cricket with his mammoth 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham in 1994.
