Murali Vijay’s sweep shot injures Samarawickrama’s rib-cage, sends him out of the ground — WATCH

Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara took India into a commanding position at the end of Day 2 in the second Test at Nagpur, but also injured Samarawickrama in the process. The ball hit his ribs flush and he was down on the ground in immense pain.

It must have been painful and also painful to see the young soul field there, as that is a risky position to be at, right under the nose of the batsman.

Earlier Sri Lankans won the toss and opted to bat first on a greenish wicket. they were polished off for 205 runs in their first innings with no one making any contribution of significance.
