New twist in team India coach selection, Sourav Ganguly says "Virat Kohli will be consulted"

Team India coach: By the looks of it, it will be a toss up between Virender Sehwag and Ravi Shastri as Tom Moody also plays dark horse

It seems there is another twist in the tale of ‘India team coach’. This comes after the Supreme Court SC-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) has asked the BCCI to announce the name of the Indian team head coach today. We can confirm the name will be let out today. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman are going to decide the candidate who will be shouldering the responsibility of taking Indian cricket forward. Sourav Ganguly in a statement given during a press conference said that they will take their time in zeroing-in on the candidate. But after the pressure clamped by Supreme Court, it seems Anil Kumble’s successor will be announced today, in some time from now.

The portfolio of the head coach is vacant because Anil Kumble had stepped down from his position owing to conflicts with the current captain Virat Kohli.

But Ganguly in a statement to ANI said, “Will speak to Vinod Rai as what was decided yesterday was with permission”. He continued saying: “He (Virat Kohli) will be consulted on coach selection.”

The people in the race for the portfolio are Tom Moody, Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus. By the looks of it, it will be a toss up between Virender Sehwag and Ravi Shastri as Tom Moody also plays dark horse.

So with the race going right down to the wire, it would be wrong in guessing as it seems to be a three-way war at the moment.
