Star bowler of Pakistan Kainat Imtiaz is taking giant strides in international cricket in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup. Pakistan women have proved that where there is a will, there is a way. She also hogged the limelight after she said that Jhulan Goswami was her inspiration for taking up cricket as a profession. Kainat in that post claimed that she had witnessed Goswami bowl way back in 2006, when the iconic Indian pacer visited Karachi for the Asia Cup. Well, interestingly she also claimed that she was a ball-picker back then. Jhulan Goswami has been representing India since a very long time. The Karachi-born all-rounder is a die-hard fan of the Indian cricketer and is also one of the most exciting talents in world cricket.
Earlier in the tournament, Indian eves defeated their Pakistani counterparts in a league game in this very tournament.
The real story
The actual story unraveled yesterday when the apex body of cricket ICC presented Kainat Imtiaz with a gift. Well, the gift was a frame of Kainat and Goswami together.
In a tweet posted by the Women’s World Cup official page on Twitter, we saw Kainat posing with her gift from the ICC. The tweet read “We presented @kainatimtiaz16 with a copy of that now famous photo with Jhulan Goswami! Look out for a feature on her story soon! #WWC17”.
