Former Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman Umar Akmal has been out of the national side for a long time now. He has represented his country in 16 Tests, 116 ODIs and 82 T20Is, however, he couldn’t get a space in the squad for the Champions Trophy 2017. Later, the situation for the right-handed batsman worsened after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made him out the list of players who all received national contracts on July 12.

Umar Akmal last appeared in the green outfit on July 30, 2015, against Sri Lanka in a T20I. Right after that, he has been struggling to be back in the national side due to his inconsistent performance. According to an NDTV report, Umar was the highest-profile casualty in the new contract list for Pakistan that has seen several retirements in the past 12 months, including of legendary veterans Younis Khan and captain Misbah-ul-Haq.

As of now, Umar has been spending time in England where he is working hard to get back his lost form. He frequently keeps on posting videos and pictures of him training hard. And recently he posted a picture on the microblogging site, Twitter, where he could be seen standing beside a Bentley car. He also gave the picture a caption, which said,”Enjoying London after hard work.”

Well, he probably hasn’t thought about the replies he would get on this post. The Twitterati badly trolled him and their replies will surely not be liked by Umar:

Well, there were enough negative tweets to discourage an international.

The very next day, Umar once again took to his account and asked his fans to be humble but not negative. he wrote,”I Love all my fans. A humble request to all fans please refrain from negative comments. Your prayers and support is always appreciated.”
