Cricket is supposed to be a gentleman’s game, but even the most respected of the lot sometimes get hot-headed, owing to the momentum of the game and the resulting pressure. Shahid Afridi, who is a very popular cricketer in Pakistan, was the latest to lose his cool during a Pakistan Super League game and the veteran cricketer resorted to an ugly, rude send-off. The cricketer who was at the receiving end was young Saif Badar. But what was heartening to see after the entire episode was how both the cricketers made-up over tweets.
So, here is what happened:

The incident happened during a PSL match in which Karachi Kings locked horns with Multan Sultans on March 10. The match was well-poised when Saif Badar hit a massive six off Shahid Afridi. That seemed to have irked Afridi. Soon, the veteran Afridi brought his experience into play to get rid of the 19-year-old Badar. It happened off the very next ball after being tonked for six. Badar was apparently trying to late-cut a ball that was a touch too close for comfort. Badar chopped it onto his stumps. But what happened after that was unexpected. Afridi gave the youngster a very rude send-off, something that was not expected from a cricketer of Afridi’s stature.

Eventually, Karachi won the game comfortably in the end by 63 runs as they bundled Sultans out for just 125 runs.
After the match was over, young Badar took to Twitter to showcase his love for his idol, despite getting a rude send-off. Badar wrote:
Still love you Shahid bhai__ #legend https://t.co/BhscumlPz0

It seems this gesture from the youngster made Afridi’s heart melt. Afridi replied to Badar’s comment and wrote:
Im sorry what happened that was momentum of the game..I always support my youngester.Good luck

It was nice to see Afridi show maturity, as he accepted his mistake and duly apologised to the young cricketer and wished him the very best for his future. All’s well that ends well.
